Snowmageddon and Hobby Lobby

Thursday St. Louis got hit with ice and snow and according to Jason everyone was calling is Snowmageddon, which I think has been used before and is therefore cheating. The first thing I can think of using Amageddon was the movie and after that Carmageddon which is when they shut down a highway in L.A. to do construction. Although Jason informed me that Carmageddon is actually a violent video game from the 1990′s in which you got points for hitting people while driving a car. I call that, driving to work.

Anyhoo, Jason and I found ourselves heading back to our house to work for the rest of the day from home since the roads were so bad. The puppies loved it! Not only do they love snow, they love not being crated.

Puppies Snowmageddon

I apologize for the fuzzy iPhone photos. They didn’t slow down once they were outside. Since we were home and I was in a playful mood, I started deeming everything “___mageddon” and Jason quickly wished he was not stuck in the house with me all day. So to make it up to him I started Cookiemageddon, which means I baked chocolate chip and walnut cookies. The recipe is top secret, but I’ll give you a hint: Nestle Tollhouse.

Anyone know why my cookies always deflate after they come out of the oven?

It also gave us a chance to make dinner at home. We made Eat, Live, Run’s Lightened Up Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta although we did add mushrooms to it. If you want to add mushrooms, just purchase a container of 16oz sliced mushrooms and add them when you are sauteing the shallot and garlic. It takes about an extra 10 minutes to cook the mushrooms (which you will want to drain once they are cooked) so make sure you cover the chicken to keep it warm.

Today I needed some materials for a work event I have Monday and Jason needed some fabric to cover the corner of the sofa where the puppies have been chewing so we hit up Hobby Lobby.

Giants Garden

How awesome are these giant flowers? I felt like Alice in Wonderland!

Feather in our hair

I tried to find a yellow feather so we could be Lola, but they didn’t have any. Plus Jason or I currently weren’t wearing a dress cut down to there. ;)

I’m celebrating finally feeling better by drinking a glass of champagne with a dark chocolate caramel with sea salt tonight. Watch out things might get crazy!
